Motorcyclist dies after Chorley crash

A MOTORCYCLIST has died after coming off his bike in Chorley last night.

The incident happened just before 10pm on Ackhurst Road, close to the Tesco supermarket.

The 25-year-old man from Chorley sustained fatal head injuries.

Police believe he lost control on a bend close to the junction with Common Bank Lane heading towards Coppull.

No other vehicle was involved.

Inspector Kevin Otter said: "The accident involved a male riding a
motorcycle. He has unfortunately come off the motorcycle and sustained
injuries which have proved fatal on arrival at hospital.

"We are appealing for any witnesses who were in the area at the time
or who saw the motorcycle being driven around that time to contact
police."
